Hello everybody,
We wish you just had a wonderful Christmas and New year holiday. Last semester, we welcomed over 50 new students and scholars to UWM, published Student Guidebook, announced new logo and started to run a website and forums, and had several events for BBQ and in Halloween.
Due to our committee's great efforts, we get over
$4200 funding for coming spring semester, which is 3-4 times more than before. With more freedom running activities, we will have several major new events in the spring, including:
1)

This is a first-time event in UWM Chinese community's history. Unlike Gala, this is mainly for UWM Chinese people to celebrate lantern festival. Hometown showcase, singning contest, Chinese Got Talent-like performance, and interactive games are featured parts. Winners will be rewarded, and anthentic Chinese buffet would be provided as dinner. Chancellor may join us at the beginning.$5 would be charged for UWM student admission. Crack the Riddles! Win your Prizes! More details and strategies are waiting for your suggestions! Contact

It is a traditional celebration of Chinese new year, including a variety of professional performance and formal authentic Chinese dinner. About 400 people from OCA, MCCC, ACSE, Marquette, MCW and UW-Milwaukee would attend by then. After hard striving, we UWM-CSSA deduct tickets admission, exclusively for UWM Chinese student members, from $14 to
only $5. Regular students and adults would be charged $10 and $17, still lower than previous years, respectively(see attachment for details). Tickets would not be available until mid January. Please pay attention to later notice. Performers(in any type), 5-10 volunteers, and 2 emcees are wanted. You will be given free admission and possible rewards. 3)
Career Development Lecture Series 求职系列讲座Friday-Sunday, March 2nd-4th, TBA, UWM Union 191

They will talk about how to search jobs, prepare interviews and resumes, policy of international graduates and answer any questions you may have. Detailed schedules would be available in February. Additional activities are not specified yet, but possible a soccer game with Marquette University, or a one-day trip to Wisconsin Dells or Six-flags in late April. Now we are thirsty to recruit new members to help us and form your committee in next term. We got a few, but way less than enough. A particular recruitment letter would follow this. Please contact
